kirstenbosch-botanical-gardens-1957706_640Summertime is filled with sunny days, swim days, long nights, barbecues, & vacations. You don’t have to look far to find some fun & free activities to do with your family this summer. Summer Movies and Concerts in the Park, offered by both Temecula & Murrieta.

In case you did not know, the city of Murrieta puts on Concerts in the Park for the month of July! How fun is that? I remember taking my children to these concerts and having such an amazing time. The concerts can also serve as a date night, for you and your partner. All around, they are a fantastic summer event. The concerts take place all around Murrieta at the local parks. Another perk to these concerts, you can bring your dog. If you have a well behaved & friendly dog, and your dog is leashed, feel free to bring them with you.

Better still, these events are FREE! How exciting is that! Make sure you bring blankets, snacks, and chairs to enjoy all the fun!

The first concert is on July 6th. The band that is performing is called Born on the Bayou. They will be playing from 6-8 pm, at the Mira Mosa Park, located at 29486 Calle Andras.

The second concert is on July 13th. The band that is playing is called Woody & the Harrelsons. You can find them at the Vintage Reserve Park, located at 26637 Kingwood Rd. Woody & the Harrelsons will be preforming from 6-8 pm.

The third concert is happening on July 20th. The band who is appearing is the Flogging Seagulls (Irish/80’s). They will be at the Copper Canyon Park, found at 23790 Visa Alisol. You can plan on watching the Flogging Seagulls from 6-8 pm.

The last concert is on July 27. The artists who will be performing are Rubin V & the Latin Sounds (latin/jazz). The park that this band will be at is Valley Vista Park, found at 2070 Morning Dove Ln.  You can catch this band playing from 6-8 pm that night.

Another fun way that I was able to have summer fun with my kids was to take them to the Temecula Moonlight Movies in the park. My children loved watching movies, so to have this event so close to us, was a dream! The movies are played on Friday evenings at the Temeku Hills Park, located at 31367 La Serena Way, or Harveston Community Park, located at 28582 Harveston Drive. The movies begin at dusk, but they do have activities starting at 6 pm. Make sure you bring your blankets, chairs, jackets, snacks, family, and friends.

The movies and dates they are being shown are:

*July 12th: The Grinch, playing at the Temeku Hills park

*July 19th: UP, playing at Harveston Community Park

*July 26th: Ralph Wrecks the Internet, playing at Harveston Community Park

I hope that your family creates long lasting memories at either or both of these events. Summer does not last forever, so lets make it last with fun activities and memories that will last a lifetime!
